Totally Locally Tadcaster and Tadcaster’s local independent high street businesses are spreading Christmas cheer with a magical window trail that combines festive fun with literary rewards for local families.

From 6th to 15th December, children are invited to explore the historic streets of Tadcaster to spell out the name of a beloved Christmas character by searching business windows for festive stockings. Each stocking displays a single letter, and young detectives must piece together the letters to reveal the mystery character.

The interactive trail takes families along High Street, St Joseph’s Street, Commercial Street, Kirkgate, Westgate, and York Road, encouraging visitors to discover the town’s independent shops and businesses while enjoying a festive treasure hunt.

Children who successfully complete the trail can claim a Mr Men book or a chocolate surprise as their reward from the participating local traders, making this both an entertaining activity and an opportunity to foster a love of reading during the festive season.

The trail is free to participate in and suitable for children of all ages. Families are encouraged to visit during the 10-day window to explore Tadcaster’s festive displays and claim their prizes.

Pick up your trail leaflet from any participating business around town.
